Beauty 101: Everything You Need to Know About Eyebrows Part 2
Brows are one of the most defining features on the face, and
when shaped improperly can draw attention in all the wrong ways. While I
covered the art of shaping your brows in Wednesday’s blog post, I want to talk
brow products so you can decide which one is right for you so you can get the
results you want. Here’s the lowdown on what you need to know about brows
products:
Brow Pencils - These
handy little tools allow for precise brow-filling. Most people who want the
most control will use a pencil, because of its simplicity and ease of use. Try
a pencil that has a cream to powder formula, which allows for it to glide on
easily and efficiently. Use light feathery strokes to create natural looking,
defined brows.
Brow Gel - This
tool delivers natural-looking eyebrows that stay put! Similar to mascara, brow
gels come in tinted shades or clear varieties and are easy to use! Just lightly
comb through your brows with the gel for easy, all-day hold.
Brow Powders - Brow
powders are ideal for adding some volume and depth to your brows. These varieties
are designed to add definition and usually come with an angled application
brush. Go for a color that’s about two shades lighter than your natural hair for
a more natural finish. Start with a little powder on the brush and use light
feathery strokes (add more powder if needed) to fill in your brows to create a
natural, defined look.
Brow Waxes - If
you want waterproof, stay-all-day brows, this is the product for you. Brow
waxes are used to fill in gaps within brows and are also usually waterproof.
The wax typically accompanies a pencil or powder to help set the color and
shape.
Brow Pomades - Pomades have a creamy formula that will define and color your brows and last
all day without smudging. Use an angled brush to
sculpt your brows to perfection. Start with a little pomade on the brush to
define your brow, then use light feathery strokes to fill in (you can add more
if needed) to create a sharp, bold look.
