At-Home Herbal Facial Steam
Do you struggle with clogged pores and acne? Many of us do. Clogged
pores are one of the main reasons for acne. One great (and inexpensive) way to
clean your pores is giving your face a good steam at home. Steaming your face
is almost like steaming your body, it provides a good deep cleanse from the
inside out. Facial steaming will make your pores sweat causing them to open
allowing any dirt and oil to be pushed out. Afterwards, you are left with soft,
supple and refreshed skin and your pores will be less visible. Facial steaming
is easy, you can do it at home and requires no special equipment or products.
Just follow the simple steps below to create your own herbal facial steam:
INGREDIENTS:
Boiled Water
Glass Bowl
Herbs (such as rosemary, mint or lavender)
Essential Oils (optional)
Towel
INSTRUCTIONS:
First, wash your face with your favorite cleanser. Then
bring a pot of water to a full boil. Remove pot from the heat and add the herbs
(such as rosemary, mint, lavender or chamomile) and your choice of essential
oils (optional) to your bowl then add the hot water. Place your face over the
bowl (about 6-8 inches above the bowl) and drape the towel over your head to
trap the steam. It shouldn’t feel uncomfortable, but if it does, move your face
further away from the bowl until it feels comfortable. The steam should
disappear after about 10-15 minutes. After, rinse and pat your face dry then
follow up with your favorite mask and skin care routine.
Why spend money for weekly (or biweekly) facials when you
can do this at home once a week and save yourself a ton of money and until next
time, stay happy, healthy and beautiful!
